Parents’ Association

Welcome to St Paul’s Parents’ Association

The Parents’ Association are involved in many aspects of school life and we are here for the benefit of you as parents and your son as he develops from a pre-teen into an adult.

Some of the roles of the Parents’ Association:

  • Liaising with school management on expectations of parents/guardians as it relates to the education of their children
  • Fundraising to help cover day to day costs
  • Ongoing development within the College, to provide a range of facilities for your son, which are not funded by Department of Education
  • Two representatives from the Parents’ Association hold positions on the Board of Management
  • Monthly meetings to keep in touch with the school and the staff and to discuss any issues relevant to the Parents’ Association
  • Discuss issues that have been raised to the Parents’ Association with regard to their sons educational, pastoral and developmental needs.

The Parents’ Association is involved in a number of fundraisers throughout the year, this enables us to support the school through replacement of equipment and sponsoring special days.

We welcome any new parent to the school and would encourage them to become involved with our association in order for both parents and son to get the best out of their time in St Paul’s. If you are available to help at any event please contact us at stpaulsparentsassoc@gmail.com

If you are a past pupil we would love to hear your experiences of the college and would welcome any involvement small or large.

We welcome any assistance that parents can offer the Association on either a formal or informal basis. The committee meets at 8pm on the first Wednesday of every month during the school year.

We have recently launched Facebook and Twitter pages where we will share information about upcoming events and news about the college.

Recent Events

Careers Night – Wednesday 20th November After the success of the first ever careers evening in March the Parents’ Association hosted the second careers evening on Wednesday 20th November.

The event was aimed at Transition Year, 5th and 6th year students.

On the evening we brought together on professionals to chat with the students in an informal setting. They discussed what their particular career entails and answered any questions the students may have.

Carol Service – Thursday December 12th Once again everyone enjoyed another tremendous Carol Service and the PA provided refreshments at the end of the evening.

Bag Packing – January 2020 Thanks to everyone who supported our recent bag pack in SuperValu Killester. We’d especially like to thank the staff and management of SuperValu. Major thanks to the parents and especially the pupils who helped pack the bags on Friday and Saturday.

All the events we deliver raise funds that are spent on essential items of class equipment/ educational programmes/ sports equipment/ white goods/ etc, that the school otherwise would not be able to purchase. In the last few years we have supported buying and sponsoring:

  • New Electronic Sign at the main entrance
  • Flooring in the Study Hall
  • Donations to various extra curriculum activities
  • New Sport uniform for Basketball
  • Donations to improve school technology & communication

We support any project or initiative that benefits the boys. The Parents’ Association can be contacted via email at stpaulsparentsassoc@gmail.com and please follow us on Facebook.
